Try look in the /collect/<collention name>/ folder on the CD If your have an Archives folder the originals will be in there. Otherwise try in the Index folder - there may be a folder called assoc/ which should have original files. If the data is corrupted because of a problem with the CD then you may be out of luck. Your best bet is to copy the CD to your hard drive before things get worse. Good luck.
