Hi Cristian,

The short answer is that we are working hard to remove any limitation on
the number of documents which can be stored in a greenstone collection,
and with good success; the "Archivo Digital" collection has a whopping
17,655 documents indexed.

The main limitation seems to be on the amount of text information
(measured in bytes) rather than the number of documents. See this wiki

If you have problems with building large collections, the mailing-list
archives might be a good place to search for answers - many
large-collection issues have been encountered and solved on the
