Subject Re: [greenstone-users] Fwd: Extracted Greenstone Metadata from Word
Hi, I tried the methods mentioned below and it still doesn't work. I
installed a fresh copy of Greenstone to eliminate any problems that I
may have caused. I created a new collection with no Metasets chosen. I
then imported one Microsoft Word 2000 file into Greenstone and then
created the database. Greenstone automatically chose Extracted
Greenstone Metadata Set 1.0 and extraced some information from the word
file which I have shown you on page 1 of the Screen shots attachment. I
then went into the design mode and chose the documents plugins option
and then went to configure the plugin WORDPlug and put on the windows
scripting option without turning on the extracted_word_metadata_files
option and tried to create the collection again. I got the error
message that you see on the first page of the Screen shots attachment
(second image). I then tried to change the Convert to option in the
Word plugin to text thinking that this was the problem but the document
was rejected by Greenstone and left my library empty. I tried different
combinations with these three options and nothing works.

Please help!!

Thank you
Devon Cinnamon

Hi Devon

You need to be running on Windows, and you need to use the
-windows_scripting and -extracted_word_metadata_fields options to
WordPlug. For the latter you supply a list of comma separated fields
that you want extracted.

Please try these options, and let us know if it still doesn't work.

Regards,
Katherine
