Hi,

I believe that RecPlug handles the parsing of Metadata.xml files. If
you need to modify it, it can be found in the following location:
gsdl/perllib/plugins/RecPlug.pm

I'm afraid I do not know the answer to your second question but I
would suggest the solution that Stefan suggested in his email to the
list yesterday (20th of December 2006) to pass the following text to
the plugin that handles recursing through the directories - RecPlug:
-input_encoding windows_1251

I believe to set the default language to Russian you edit (or
create) the:
gsdl/collect/<collection name>/etc/collect.cfg
and put the following text at the end:
cgiarg shortname=l argdefault=ru
As an explanation of the above code, it sets the default CGI
argument language (l) to Russian (ru). This can be done for any CGI
argument, such as collection name.

Cheers,
