Hi

What do you mean by "if it's possible to show the contents of an
external file when an image is chosen(clicked) on the gsdl interface"?

If you want to click from an image to an external file, you can put the
url of the file into some metadata field, and use that as the href of
the link (via format statements).

If you want to have an image and an associated textual file to be part
of the same document, and when you view an image, you want to see the
contents of this text file along with the image, then:

Are the text files plain text, or some other format?
If they are plain text, you could modify ImagePlug to read in the text
file and add the content to the document.
Or you could use PagedImgPlug, which handles sequences of images and
associated text files. In your case, each sequence would have one image.

If the documents are word/pdf or something complicated, it may be easier
to import the word document, and associate the metadata with that
document, then rename the image to have the same name as the other file,
but with jpg extension, and use the cover images facility to associate
the image with the document.
