Hi Ed, I suspect the issue with the " and ' marks are that Excel or some other program has turned them into the so-called smart-quotes so they aren't ASCII characters anymore. I took a quick look in Excel and couldn't find it, but in Word the setting is in the AutoFormat tab of Tools -> AutoCorrect options menu as "Replace "straight quotes" with "smart quotes". I've been exporting my data from Access without a problem, including an annotation field that goes over 255 characters.
