Subject [greenstone-users] Collection disappearing

We have been creating collections in Greenstone 2.72 for a few months now with no problems. Recently one of our employees needed to add data to a collection but when they tried to open it they received an error and the collection was removed from the open collections list. The employee is using the gli client 2.72 on Windows XP. The server running Greenstone 2.72 is a CentOS 4 server. The error that is showing on the Command Prompt for the gli client is:

gliserver args: cmd=download-collection&c=alexande

java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:Documents and SettingsusernameApplication Dat

CollectionManager.loadCollection: No config file.

I've checked to see if the collect.cfg and the build.cfg files are there and they are. They look identical to the files before the incident but I'll attach them anyway just to make sure that there isn't something that I'm missing. Also, these are the entries in the error log in Greenstone:

Warning: couldn't read build.cfg
 file for collection "alexande", gsdlhome="/var/www/html/gsdl"
database open failed on: /var/www/html/gsdl/etc/history.db

There is nothing in the collect directory on my local machine, even after I try to open the collection. I successfully opened another collection and there is still nothing in the collect directory so I don't know if java is just trying to look in the wrong directory or if it's looking on the server for the information(which the information is on the server just how it is listed in the path with the seperating the names). I can give you a detailed list if you want but there is a lot of directories and data in the archives directory. I will give you a list right now of what is in the directory that is failing to load according to the java error. That list is: archives(d) DAlexand(d) er McBet(d) h Store(d) Ledger p(d) age 10.dir(d) ( doc.xml(f) , gcls_mbth_ldgr_010.jpg(f) , thumbnail.gif(f) ). The (d)'s are directories and the (f)'s are files. I'm guessing this is pretty standard for having pictures and things of that nature in the metadata. I have attached a copy of the file that the client is having issues accessing. See if you see anything out of the ordinary with it. I can tell you that I cannot pull the file up in the web browser on the server so maybe that's an issue. The permissions on the attached files are globally readable, owner writable with the exception of the history.db which is globally readable and writable. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Robert
