The MUSTER project has generated new understandings of teacher education before, during and after the point of initial qualification across a range of countries. It explores how new teachers are identified and selected, how they aquire the skills they need to teach effectively, and how they experience training and induction into the teaching profession. It also analyses supply and demand for new teachers in the context of universalising primary schooling , and identifies policy priority and likely resource constraints.
