Including risk reduction and preparedness in the UNDP

1 This chapter is adapted from Chapter 2
of the UNDP/UNDRO Disaster Management Manual.
This chapter focuses primarily on promoting disaster mitigation
in the context of long-term development planning and programs, in particular
through the UNDP country program and other projects funded through UNDRO.
Mitigation measures must also be actively promoted in the context of
post-disaster rehabilitation and
reconstruction.
