9.5.2.3 Use a targeted approach
A targeted approach can be used, in which one or more empirical
indices depict the relative health-related concerns associated with pollutant
emissions (e.g., stress related to physical, chemical, biological, and/or
radiological emissions), environmental transport and their pathways,
environmental media contamination potential, and/or potential remediation
measures and their effectiveness in reducing existing contamination.
Information on other targeted approaches is also available. These
results of targeted approaches could then be integrated into the appropriate
activities associated with the EIA
study.
