Pesticide workers should receive thorough training in approved safe working procedures for activities involving pesticides. This should include such operations as storage, mixing, application, clean-up and disposal of surplus material and empty containers.

The importance of the correct use of personal protective equipment and of rigorous personal hygiene should be instilled and training given of fitting, inspection and maintenance of suitable respiratory equipment, in particular.
