Since the United Nations Human Rights web site was made accessible globally in English (10 December 1996), and the French and Spanish versions were introduced (10 December 1997), it has been visited by users from over 150 countries worldwide.

The average use of the web site has increased from 1,000 to 20,000 user sessions per week since its launch. As of mid-1999, interested visitors are accessing more than 2 million documents per month, a number that rose to 3 million during the six-week session of the Commission on Human Rights in 2000.

These numbers prove the success of the project, encourage us to meet expectations, and reinforce our commitment to work for its continuing maintenance, improvement and updating.

In the context of this continuing commitment, your comments and/or suggestions play a pivotal role. With this in mind, we have created a special e-mail address:

which appears at the bottom of our home page.
