Conclusions

33. These case studies document several models for implementing solar PV programs. The findings of the ASTAE evaluations are summarized in Table 1. In addition, the solar PV program in Mexico is a good example of a large-scale PV electrification effort that is part of an integrated rural development project implemented by the government. Several papers documenting the Mexican experiences are noted in the "References" section of this report. Although there is no preferred approach to solar PV promotion, local conditions and cultures might make one method more appropriate than another. The individual case study reports contain detailed descriptions of solar PV programs along with country-specific recommendations.
